This website will connect you to people with different perspectives. Our algorithm analyzes your profile and suggests new people for you to follow based on your age, location, likes and shares.

Pop Your Bubble is a tool created by The KIND Foundation, a separate 501(c)(3) established by KIND Healthy Snacks. The goal of the tool is to help you pop your social media bubble and bring new and diverse perspectives into your feed. Back to top
According to a recent survey conducted by Morning Consult on behalf of The KIND Foundation, only 5% of us see social media posts that differ greatly from our world view. This indicates that our social media feeds mostly reflect our own perspective, which unintentionally puts us in a bubble. Back to top
We think it’s important to connect with people we might not normally come across. By popping our social media bubbles, we hope we'll discover more commonalities than differences. Back to top
There are many tools (like PolitEcho) that help visualize the political slant of your friends, but an easy way to assess your bubble — which is about more than just politics — is to scroll through your feed and see how long it takes for you to notice something you disagree with. If it takes a while, it might be time to pop your bubble. Back to top
This tool will analyze aspects of your Facebook profile — location, age, gender, likes and shares — to find people who might help pop your bubble. We expect these inputs to represent your interests and help us find people who aren’t exactly like you. You'll then be able to follow those people, which will expose you to new voices, perspectives and ways of life — all with just a few clicks! Back to top
We felt 10 would be a good number, at least to get you started. It's only a minimum threshold, though — you can follow as many people as you'd like! Just come back to popyourbubble.com and keep adding people anytime. Back to top
The people you are following have volunteered to make their profiles public as part of the Pop Your Bubble experience. In advance of our launch, we reached out to people across the country to ask individuals to join an experiment introducing people to new points of view. If you are interested in also sharing your profile with our community – you will get a prompt to “add your profile” after you pop your bubble through our tool. Back to top
Everyone who joins this community is doing so on their own accord. We expect that people will act with decency, respect and, of course, kindness. If you encounter someone who is not acting in this spirit, please contact email@example.com. Back to top
We understand these situations can be challenging, which is why we encourage you to start by simply listening. Rather than engaging in hostile dialogue, embrace this opportunity to consider how others see and interact with the world. If you find yourself getting frustrated by politics (or even sports), try focusing on shared interests — we believe there is always more common ground than meets the eye. Back to top
Here’s how to see everyone you’ve just followed (it’s easiest on desktop):
To make sure the people you are following through Pop Your Bubble remain at the top of your feed, simply follow these steps:
Once you've popped your bubble, we recommend taking a look at the profiles of the new people you've followed. Get a feel for who they are and understand how they might be different from you. That way, when their posts start showing up in your feed, you won't be surprised or confused about who they are or where they're coming from. Also, don't be afraid to engage with your new “friends” in the same way you would engage with your old friends. Back to top
Yes, it’s easy to unfollow someone. Simply go to their profile page on Facebook, hover over the “Following” button, and pick “Unfollow” from the menu. Back to top
If you liked following different people, you can share your own profile to help other people pop their bubbles too. You'll receive a prompt to "add your profile" after you pop your bubble through our tool. (Note that, to be followed, you will need to make your Facebook profile public if it's not already. We'll share more information in a follow-up email after you sign up.) Back to top

A “cookie”, or other similar device, is a small piece of data that can be sent by a web server to your computer, which then may be stored by your browser on your computer s hard drive. Cookies allow us to recognize your computer while you are on our website and help customize your online experience and make it more convenient for you. Cookies are also useful in allowing more efficient login for users, tracking transaction histories and preserving information between sessions. The information collected from cookies may also be used to improve the functionality of our website. Most cookies are session cookies, that is, they are automatically deleted from your hard drive at the end of a session. Most web browser applications (such as Microsoft Internet Explorer) have features that can notify you when you receive a cookie or prevent cookies from being sent. You are always free to prevent cookies from being sent, if your browser permits, but in that case you may not be able to use certain features of our website and you may be required to reenter your password more frequently during a session. We may work with online advertising companies to show you relevant and useful ads based on tracking. This may include ads served on our websites or apps. This may also include ads served on other companies’ sites. These ads may be based on information collected by us or third parties (for example, when you register for a site). These ads may also be based on your activities on our websites or on third party sites. This second type of advertising is called "online behavioral advertising." To learn more about this type of advertising, click here. To learn more about the tracking tools we use, see the Cookies and Tracking Tools section, above. To opt out of having your online behavior collected for advertising purposes, click here. Choices you make are browser and device specific. Certain third-party platforms provide consumers with the ability to opt-out of receiving interest-based ads. On some of these platforms, you need to control your settings on that platform. For example, to opt out of Google’s collection of your online behavior for advertising purposes, visit the Ad Settings page here. Choices you make are browser and device specific.
